Default preferences define the way your facility and/or lab calculate clinical data measurements. The preferences are for adequacy, vascular access and mineral metabolism. Below are resources available to assist with default preference.


View Default Preferences for Facility


Default Preferences assist facilities in entering clinical data by automatically selecting commonly used settings on CROWNWeb screens. By setting these preferences to the value your facility typically uses, the unit of measure or way of calculating is automatically selected for you. Users can manually override any default selection by simply choosing another item from the drop-down menu.


The procedure for viewing default preferences is as follows:

  1.  From the Home screen, click the Facilities link. The Search Facilities screen displays.  
  2.  Enter the facility search criteria, and then click Search. The Facility Search Results screen displays a list of facilities that meet the search criteria.
  3.  Click the CROWN FAC ID of the desired facility. The Facility Details(Submitted) screen displays in the view mode.
  4.  Click the View Default Preferences link.
  5. The View Default Preferences screen displays the current default settings.


Edit Default Preferences Instructions


All entries are optional. However, setting these preferences will save you time when entering clinical information for a patient, as units of measurement and other repetative selections will be populated for you. You can always override a selection directly on the page, as well.

To edit default preferences:

  1. From the Home screen, click the Facilities link. The Search Facilities screen displays.  
  2. Enter the facility search criteria, and then click Search. The Facility Search Results screen displays a list of facilities that meet the search criteria.
  3. Click the CROWN FAC ID of the desired facility. The Facility Details(Submitted) screen displays the current information for the facility selected.
  4. Click View Default Preferences. The View Default Preferences screen displays the current default settings.
  5.  Click Edit Default Preferences. The Edit Default Preferences screen displays.

Note:
You can enter one or more default values on this screen and then click Submit. If the default preferences for a facility have already been set, the Edit Default Preferences screen is pre-populated with the existing values. You can change these existing values back to "No Default Preference."

  1. Click the down arrow  to the right of the desired field, choose the desired setting from the list displayed, and then click Submit.
  2. The View Default Preferences screen displays the message "Preferences have been saved," informing you that the changes passed validation and have been updated in CROWNWeb.
