The End-Stage Renal Disease National Coordinating Center (ESRD-NCC) supports the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the ESRD Networks through the development and implementation of national LAN webinar meetings. One of the focus areas is in increasing the number of patients being added to the transplant waitlist.
LANs bring people together around a shared idea, opportunity, or challenge to offer and request information and experiences to improve an identified topic of discussion. LANs are mechanisms by which large-scale improvement around a goal is fostered, studied, adapted, rapidly spread, and sustained regardless of the change methodology, tools, or time-bounded initiative that is used to achieve the goal. LANs engage communities around an action-based agenda that gains commitments toward the achievement of person-centered outcome-based goals.
It is required that all dialysis facilities have a staff member who attends to these calls. During this calls, you will have the opportunity to learn best practices, and expected to identify at least one that you can implement at your facility. These calls are offered bi-monthly (January, March, May, July, September, November) and are offered the third (1st) Tuesday of those months. The calls are always recorded and posted in their website after 10 business days: https://esrdncc.org/en/qia/
The NCC offers one (1) CEU for each LAN Call (with live attendance or by watching the recorded call), after completing a quiz in their LMS platform. You may access the quiz under the information of each individual call, with the option of creating a new account or logging in with an existing account. (NOTE: This quiz is separate and independent than any survey in Survey Monkey from the NCC or the Network)
